San Carlos de Bariloche, is an Argentinian city, part of Río Negro Province, and is the main city of the Department of Bariloche. It is the most heavily populated city in the Patagonian Andes. It is located next to the Nahuel Huapi National Park, alongside the Cordillera de los Andes (Andes Mountain Range), on the southern shore of Nahuel Huapi Lake.

Bariloche is approximately 354 kilometers from Puerto Montt, in Río Negro Province, Argentina. The city lies 1,621 km from Buenos Aires, the Argentinian capital. You can reach Bariloche via air, arriving at San Carlos de Bariloche Airport.
Navimag Ferries sail from Puerto Natales to Puerto Montt and from Puerto Chacabuco to Puerto Montt, on a voyage through stunning Patagonian scenery. Once in Puerto Montt you can get to Bariloche by land.
Departures from Puerto Chacabuco are on Tuesdays and Fridays and from Puerto Natales on Tuesdays all year around.
