San Carlos de Bariloche, is an Argentinian city, part of Río Negro Province, and is the main city of the Department of Bariloche. It is the most heavily populated city in the Patagonian Andes. It is located next to the Nahuel Huapi National Park, alongside the Cordillera de los Andes (Andes Mountain Range), on the southern shore of Nahuel Huapi Lake.

Bariloche has a high mountain climate, with a hot summer, with maximum temperatures of 30°C a common occurrence. In the winter the temperatures are cool and rainfall is abundant. The wind blows constantly from the west. Most rainfall occurs in the months of May and June, with a monthly average of 130 mm.
