The prevailing climate in the zone where Navimag ferries navigate is rainy maritime, with 2,000 to 4,000 mm of annual rainfall, low temperatures, and little temperature oscillation, extending from Puerto Montt to the northern part of the Magallanes region, the whole area of the islands that make up the channels.

Enjoy a unique experience, because no matter what time of year you travel, the scenery and natural light will always play an important role, dramatizing the scenery and enriching your Patagonia adventure. The majesty of the snow-capped mountains and the vegetation in all its splendor offer lovely scenery during the winter months when a tranquil atmosphere prevails, providing calm sailing. The characteristic winds of Patagonia decrease in intensity preparing to blow again at the beginning of summer. Importantly, the longer and bright days of summer take over the winter and the trees sprout new green leaves, renewing the colors of the scenery, reflecting the lush vegetation in the crystal waters of the Patagonian channels.

To get the most out of your trip make sure you are dressed weather appropriate. We recommend that you prepare for your tip by packing water proof jackets, gloves, and pants. You will also want to pack sweaters, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, and water proof boots or trekking shoes. With appropriate attire you will enjoy your travel with us upon your arrival at Puerto Montt and you will be ready to get the most enjoyment out of your tours, and Patagonia adventures. Even during our summer please note that it can get a bit chilly and windy so it is important that you dress warm and cozy.
